PHILADELPHIA - 68 ft twin pontoon Houseboat

MAX NUMBER OF PASSENGERS: 12 (comfortably and ideally 10)

Three crew - Captain / Cook / Deckhand
Child Friendly, with good railing around bottom and top deck.
One pontoon raft with shelter with 40hp Mercury 2 stroke motor and one wolf speed boat with 115 mariner driven by crew only - should you wish to bring your own boat please organize with agent prior.

TOP DECK: Spacious area with sheltered roof and drop awnings. Teak bar with freezer, coldwater Coleman, twelve bar stools, plug point and glasses provided. Dining space is set up with 2 tables and 10 directors chairs. Dishing up counter, where food is served and coffee and tea available throughout the day. Three benches and additional sleeping space with 12 mattresses / linen and mosquito nets available on request. Splash Pool at back of top deck. (Not to be filled while travelling)

Decent size gas braai for your own use or the cook will braai for you. Strictly no charcoal allowed on this boat.

Four cabins - each with basin / fan / cupboard space:

Cabins only powered by generator - runs till 10pm. Cabins have fans.

ELECTRICAL POWER

12 Solar panels supplying a 3kva Vectron solar sytem. This provides the power necessary to supply all of the electrical power requirements. In addition a 10 Kva generator is installed to provide power for the air conditioning or back up power should there be insufficient solar activity. Water is heated by gas geysers providing hot water

Solar power with back up generator if required. Clients will need to bring personal device chargers if necessary.

Cabins only powered by generator - runs till 10pm. Cabins have fans.

Please note: Should you need to use it the generator will be switched off at 10pm which is Government Stipulated Lake Rules.

Please note: Should you exceed the number of passengers the boat will not leave harbour - this is for safety reasons. In the event of this happening no refund will be given.

Please note: Boarding time is at10am and disembarking 10am unless cleared beforehand with the boat manager.

Boats do not have night navigational equipment, so they are not permitted to sail in the dark - latest set off time is strictly 2pm in winter and 2:30pm in summer.

If you do not make it in time, sleeping in harbour is not permitted, so you would have to find alternate accommodation at your own expense and set off the next morning.

Please note: VERY IMPORTANT: Kariba is a Malaria Area - please see your pharmacist or doctor to get the necessary anti-malarial tablets or sprays.

PHILADELPHIA is a great family boat that is 68ft (20.7m) long, she is elegantly furnished and has secure railings making it suitable for children and elderly guests.. It is also has a Solar System with a backup generator

Philadelphia has 2 decks, the Lower Deck contains 4 air conditioned cabins, 2 of which have their own en-suite bathrooms and 2 separate shower-basin-toilet bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with ample cold space and the crew cabin. All cabins are carpeted and have air-conditioning and fans all with mosquito nets.

The Upper Deck is where the main entertainment area is located. It is a spacious area with sheltered roof and drop awnings. , with a bar and lounging area. The teak bar is equipped with a freezer, cold water Coleman, twelve bar stools, plug points and glasses provided. The dining space is set up with 2 tables and 10 directors chairs. All areas including stairways are protected by railings, wire-mesh screens and gates making the boat as child friendly as any houseboat can be (please still be VERY aware of where your children are at all times)
